Hi, I did a video of my CUBASE 4 testdrive ( available in GERMAN ) www.musotalk.de

Hallo,

Wait wait wait... just to get this straight... are Beta Testers ALLOWED to reveal anything special yet?

Then again, Future Musik US seems to have done an indepth review, so did a swedish magazine... I'll give it a shot.

EDIT:
Just watched it. Interesting what the "Instrument Track" is. It's a faster access to VSTi's. It loads, in short, a MIDI channel, tags it, routes the VSTi and you can record at once. So this is what Steinberg meant with it.

But... does that mean that they combined MIDI channels and the VSTi automation in the "automation dropdowns" now, or does that only work for Instrument channels? Cause if so, this system sure is not balanced in my opinion. I sometimes like to use MIDI channels for laying out sounds in GM, then load whatever I want (VSTi or hardware) and not using VSTi's right from the start.

Then... you all said "Halion is a sampler", according to Steinberg and all the release infos it's a rompler - unless it can really load independent samples.

Else, thanks for the quick hookup - would have expected a more in-depth review but at least it cleared that the new "instrument channel" is.

And one thing SERIOUSLY pisses me off. Why the funk is the VB-1 and the LM-7 still bundled, but A1 not? Unless that one doesn't work in Intel Macs (like Monophone and that pad-surround synth).

Something that pisses me off ... you said (I'm translating to english here) that "the cubase mixer is probably the best sounding mixer in the industry" ...!!! There is no such thing as a better summing engine. :x :x :x
