Hi
I recorded a few clips and saved them in Cubase SL2 as Wav 24 Bit 44.1 Khz.
Then making mp3's out of them. Playing fine in Cubase and also in Windows Media Player on the DAW. When moving the files to my other pc's they sound detuned, like a halv tone lower or more. Also smurfing has occurred on another occasion. Any ideas?

Mixed up 48kHz files in 44.1kHz projects maybe??

Let me guess - other pc has a Sound Blaster with a fixed sample rate of 48k?

Sounds like you're exporting 48k mp3s and playing them back on a 44k machine. What sound card do you have on your Cubase machine? Sounds like that machine is locked at 48k.

the internet Pc hasn't a Sound Blaster, it has an onboard chip. Furthermore
the recorded wav sound right on the Cubase pc when I record them (and export them), but they now sound wrong next time I launch Cubase.
On my Cubase pc I have an Echo Layla 24. It says 44.1 Khz. both in the souncard panel and in Cubase, but I think you are right, it has to be a 48>44.1 thing. Dammit, I have a project I need to record this weekend, so I hope I can sort it out.

So you have an Echo Layla 24? I had an Echo MIA, and Echo never provided proper XP drivers for it, after discontinuing it. I had a hell of a time getting it to work, never did, really; I bet it's something with the Layla. Did you check in the Echo console to see whether the samplerate is fixed or if it's set to change automatically? (can't remember what that setting is called). Maybe try reinstall/different drivers?
Or maybe you could upload the file in question and we can see if there's something wrong with it.
