Free Plugins worthy of a Donation

I'm about 5 months in on the software/plugin thing, but have been a cheap-ass most of my life. I've bought quite a bit software, but have recently gone nuts downloading (legitimate) freebies and am closing in on plugin overload.
Searching's part of the fun, but I'm hoping to thin out the list somewhat, as well as potentially support some of the more exceptional developers - I'd be more inclined to do so, knowing there aren't a dozen similar ones that exist.
I'd like to see those (mainly FX, but am now getting into instruments) that you think are not only good, but without true rival, that you'd arguably pay for (if you had the money), and maybe how much, as well as why, with potential cost alternatives.
EXAMPLE:
1: Knufinke SIR - Convolution Reverb - $20 ??? (dunno - again I'm a newbie and cheap)
Very easy and versatile (I believe without free rival) - due to latency issues in an aux and a desire for more (non-IR)sounds, I've recently purchased Wizooverb ($108 on ebay), which I like, but still enjoy SIR as an insert.

I have others I think worth mentioning, but hesitate due to limited experience at this time(Ones I thought irreplaceable 2 months I ago, I no longer use) - I know most of you have been doing this for years. I'm not looking to start a debate on who deserves to get paid, mainly looking for a strong list of plug-ins - to the contrary, there are some paid plugins I regret buying (maybe another post, another time - then again, don't really enjoy slamming ones work).

I've donated to smartelectronix members and to stk for arc_dev plugins.

I recommend you take your time, if you are still unsure then hold the donations - the donationware devs usually state that "if you continue to use these plugins, please consider donating to support the development"... It takes me a long time to decide whether something is worth the money. Sama with commercial plugins, I always run out of the evaluation period and need to redownload the demos

I think Convoboy from http://www.elevayta.com/ is the cheapest convolution processor, SIR is easily as good but has higher latency.

Regarding the sum, just think of a sum that would make you happy. Enough to pay for a good meal? Case of beer? Bucket of roses and a bottle of redwine to keep a coder's lady happy?

That's simply not true. Paypal takes 3.4% + £0.20 GBP for small amounts... https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/websc ... countries= Even small amounts are more than worthwhile. The dollar prices are similar.

Play around with them & find which ones you are really sticking with after a few weeks.
I won't mention any names, because it's down to personal preference - effects that I reckon are the dogs bollocks may not be right for you.

Well he has my respect, Charsiesis and Oatmeal rule, and he has some other interesting projects going on.
