It's the only free dither that I know of. Did Voxengo have something? I don't remember.

There was one by Sweetboy called RDR, but last I checked Sweetboy's site was down.

If by dither you mean change the sample rate, Voxengo r8brain is free for the taking...

Most hosts and audio editors have dithering options when converting from 32bits to 16bits. No plugin alas, but more options to test and compare...

Thanks but look at the post date it is 31 Mar - i think it was meant to be posted on 01 Apr

Or is it not an April Fools plugin ?
Is it worth my time to download and test it ?

No - i need a dither vst (real time) plugin not a batch sample rate converter.

Yes i know - i use Adobe Audition's dither when finalizing mixes.

It's a pity AA effects (especially it's excellent noise reduction) can't be used live as vst plugins.

I have found the AA dither (particularly since it has so many options) fine for most things. I only got a separate dither because it was included within another VST plugin (a limiter). Do you not like the AA dither?

I need a real time (vst) dither.

oh, ok, fair enough. if it's just for experimental purposes rather than actual mastering, you may have more luck and fun creating a dither sound from scratch using a noise generator in a synth.

p.s. look at the current thread about Sonalksis; it seems their FreeG plugin adds some dither. (TBC by the developer)
