Hi,
First off I want to say that I hope I'm not off topic. If I am, please tell me so. Okay:
I have a project I am working on. I need a number of words, 64 to be exact. I want human read words. None are very obscure, though some are more modern. Basicly I'm looking for some sort of public domain directory of single words, read by a single person. I considered recording the words myself, but for a number of reasons this has proved unsatisfactory. Anybody know of anything? Also, I could use a human read dictionary, and then rip the words required. Anyone know of such a thing? Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Tim

You may try "http://librivox.org/".
Public domain and read by humans:)LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain and release the audio files back onto the net (via podcast and catalog). Our goal is to make all public domain books available as free audio books. We are a totally volunteer, open source, free content, public domain project.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Possible, and I have found the site and considered it, but the chances are great that the words when all collected together, would incorperate different people speaking them. Unless I could find one reader who, over however many books, spoke all the words I was looking for, this wouldn't work. I hate to sound picky here, but powers above me are making descions here, and I need all the words spoken by the same person.
Still, thank you for the suggestion.

I'm sure that someone here would be willing to read some words, although you might get varying levels of quality.
Heck, I'd give it a go so long as it is in English and you post the words (or PM them).

Don't say "apple" in a musical context
Good luck with the project though... What kind of "voice talent" are you looking for? Male or female? Native English speaker, or rather an Australian or American? Any other specific accent you want?
