HELP: ableton live reboots my pc

I tried to install the demo version (the previous and the last) of Ableton Live.

I have 2 partitions, one for audio applications (my hobby) with nothing but the necessary to run cubase.

The second partition is for graphic application (my job) with all the wistles and bells needed.

Well Ableton Live demo installs and works fine on graphic partition, while on the audio partition it starts, shows the logo and few seconds later it reboots my pc.

So... what do you think I'm missing on audio partition? something related to the graphics like the last directx or the last video driver?
The audio setup differences are simply that for the graphic partition the default windows default system audio card is the poor integrated audio board, while in the audio partition the windows default system audio card is the more pro terratec EWS 88MT.

I tried switching on the graphic partition to Terratec as default and Ableton keep working... so I don't think that this may be the problem...

Any suggestion?

Missing directx drivers could probably be the cause indeed.
I never used Live, but I assume it might require some up to date system files. Quite some hosts these days do so. I would just make an image of the audio partition (in case something goes wrong) and then get all the Microsoft updates for a test.
On my audio laptop, I always have the latest Windows updates installed - never experienced a problem.

Thanx, I'll try installing the last directx, but I'm trying to avoid installing the winXP SP2. I had a bad experience with the other partition... so now that my audio setup is rock solid... well I'm not so keen on changing much. But directx and the last video driver.. could be useful... I'll try...
