I'm interested in the Total rex loop collection. Being able to fiddle with them in Stylus RMX sounds nice.

1. A lot of the loops are not for me, though. I really hope there is completely freedom to use just the ones I need, so I won't have to clutter my harddrive with the ones I don't want. Can somebody confirm this loop collection doesn't come with some installprogramcrap that forces me to install all the loops on my harddrive. Please?

2. Have you found the Total rex loop collection useful?

Thanks

According to the people on Northern Sound forum, they really like total rex and the package was even re-produced so that it would work flawlessly with Stylus RMX. From what I read in reviews, it's a mixed bag - so you like some, you hate some - but you can easily load what you like and disregard what you don't.

It's all rex2 (rx2) format, so it loads nicely into Stylus. It's probably my next purchase.

An alternative package that could be worth looking at is Sonic Reality's R.A.W. Universal Groove Kit, a little more expensive and not as many loops, but quantity is not always the best way to gauge the usefulness of a product.

5000 plus loops that's at about 3Gb of REX loops
the same 5000+ loops also come as Apple Loops (5Gb) and in Wave versions too.

I'm not using R.A.W. with stylus so if you want to know how well it works with stylus and also if its worth getting, ask at the KVR Sonic Reality/eSoundz.com forum, I'm sure someone will give you the lowdown on it.

Also if you are ordering from the UK remember you'll probably have to pay VAT on it,
I still think it's good value even with the VAT added to it.

(Refer ashley_k on esoundz and we both get $5 in epointz!)
