So will SIR ever be zero latency?

As far as I remember until recently author's site was saying something like "zero latency version" in to do list.
Now in FAQ it reads "Due to technical reasons the plugIn works with a fixed latency of 8960 samples that is compensated for by the VST-host."
Does anybody have any idea?

True zero latency convolution is achievable implementing the Lake-Technologies patent on partitioned overlap&save approach. I haven't tested, but imho the cpu load should be greater. And I don't know if this kind of patent could be applied on software or not.
About SIR, there is a little free utility, a delay compensation plug somewhere (if the host doesn't support delay compensation this could be a good workaround)

SIR was partially implemented in Wizoo Verb W2 and W5 - I guess due to that, the author discontinued working on SIR.
I'm in the ML, however I never got an eMail, nor an info about a beta version or anything of some sort.
Lower latency is possible, just look at tools like Voxengo, Wizoo, Altiverb and even Waves. However the "free scene" kinda stopped working on convolution reverbs.

Amberience, I use FL Studio, yes it has pdc, but, frankly, screen going ahead of sound is quite confusing.
