using the auto functions in Sonalksis SV-315

hi i recently tried this compressor and quite like the sound of it though it is quite different to what im use to (waves c1).

the autogain feature is usefuk, and the auto release is very interesting. i like what it does, but i am wondering if any special caution should be used with either of these controls or whether they should be avoided when processing certain materials, etc.. are there any other useful tips you can think of when using this processor?
