Can our freeware stand up to Proware :?:

Will people who can't afford software/hardware really benefit from these good works :?:

Post

Yeah, I definately have in the past so....
Do not lick the fablanky

Of course they can, and have and do. Consider that several people who have entered in this contest also sell their software, hence are makers of "pro-ware." Triple Cheese isn't as fully featured as Zebra 2, but it wouldn't do Urs any good to make a poor quality free plugin.

Triple Cheese is really an awesome little plugin - I've been toying with it a bit and I really enjoy the sounds that come out of it. If I was starting from scratch, I reccomended Triple Cheese for it's lush sweet tasty cheddary sounds

----I would have to say that several of the DC entries are "normal" enough to replace payware, or at least take-the-place-of some payware. A lot of the others, well, that depends on your personal style really. There's just so much high quality audio freeware these days, that between that, and the glut of great low priced payware, just about anyone can make any style of music they want even on a very limited budget. :)

:) Thats what I'm starting to feel and hear, I get a lot of
comrads highly pissed at freeware and still sware by hardware, and pro tools, and high priced plug ins.

change is a ***** for some of my friends their really against this global attack of cheap and freeware stuff,

Me, I Love it and feel very comfortable and always amazed in my studio...

Some of it holds up - some of it doesn't
and a lot of them do things that no "proware" can do. Which is a big accomplishment in itself.
Overall, I think that this is an amazing pack of plugins with some serious gems in there.
Especially considering the price! lol

The difference between hardware and software: hardware goes 'hiss' and software does'nt :-)

i should know, i've got a load here i never use..

Drum mic position, or whatever it's called, is just a splendid little maveric! I'm using it to apply space to my instruments, brings some sort of live garage feeling to the sound.

Trouble with EQ22 is that there isn't anything 'PRO' out there for it to replace.. Even Transient Designer is still a compressor, and that's hardware..

I agree, eq22 can't be replaced and so many others, I'm just happy to be out of the dark ages, when you would memorize a music brochure, and every thing cost you, your soul and a couple of lives.. :)

the most thing I enjoy about these plugs is, that every one has a different tone or method for achieving a very unique sound.

I'm never bored and never out of ideas...

buzzriser free is a hell of a compressor it definitly reminds me of some pro gear, sound wise , but the interface is different from most compressors I know.

the quality/price ratio is unbeatable by proware... unless someone likes cantor (the mathematician) and start comparing different kind of infinity...
