Hi, it's a really nice bass preset, but it sounds out of tune. I'm trying to adjust the comb filter tune settings, but can't get it tuned. Any advise what to adjust? Thx, Kent

SM is my handle,
so that means it's one of my presets.
I gonna have a look at it asap

Yes, I tried to change the comb filter tuning but could not get it in shape. It's a good sound, but any changes in the comb filter section changes the bass sound dramatically. I noticed the detuning when I had the bass working with a couple of pads and arp sections at the same time.

hi kent I had a look at the patch,
but I'm sorry I cant find a problem with tuning.
tho I dont have any tuning analyzer here atm.
but I layered it with some other synths/sounds,
and they all seem to be quite in tune.
So its maybe a bit of the way the patch is constructed,
that gives you the feeling that it is out of tune?
there is noise as the base, and the feedback of the comb
is modulated by an envelope
and the comb and fmo are slightly detuned.
you could reduce this detuned values, but that will also change the sound a bit.
I'm sorry, I think I cant do much about it.
But maybe it is only my lack of good tuned ears.
that I cant hear its out of tune.

I listened to the patch and it is in fact in pretty much in tune. There is a small tuning issue though if you play the same note repeatadly, but that can be narrowed down to a result of patch design. I think it has to do with the fact that the Vibrato is set to fairly high value and that the Env1 reacts more than usually to velocity such controlling the Comb feedback.
It's more of an "impression" of tuning issue than acutally being detuned.
Cheers
Hans

thanks Hans for checking the patch
so as I already stated above the patch is in tune.
so not much to do from my side.
Kent, I hope that's not too frustrating for you.

Hi, I could send a quick sample to show the issue, anyway, I switched to another bass sound meanwhile. --Kent

Depending upon the comb settings, you can make it sound out of tune
For example, in the basic comb then 'Tone' and 'Flavour' have no effect, but in the others like split comb, diff comb, then those controls affect the sound and can affect tuning character.
