i've seen "virtual audio cable" (http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.html), but is there something like this for free? something that will give me some virtual audio inputs so i can route outs to ins in tracktion and get some feedback or whatever? i have senderella, which i use, but is there something that gives real virtual (oxymoron!) inputs?

it's a vst that can send to other instances of itself within a host, useful for hosts that don't have send/returns or for creating feedback loops. pretty useful sometimes, but not exactly what i'm looking for...

I've used Jaltoh's Soundbus to route audio from one instance of AudioMulch to another.
Worked pretty well.
Not sure whether it would solve your problem, but maybe worth a try.

if you have a 10k1, etc bazsed audio card, you can try the kx drivers (sb live, sb audigy)

Reaper might be able to do what you want... it's routing capabilities are pretty extensive.

Obviously means you will need to do some work outside Tracktion so depends on how viable that is for you...

But the problem is latency with the plugin solutions.. what about a non musical host solution other than VAC.?? This would be great...

Is the record out feature Host syncable (not an automatable button they are not 100% accurate)? That would make it a sell for me..
