I can get this to work playing an audio clip of drumming to trigger a drum vst.

I would like to have it make a midi clip from its midi output.

I tried hooking it up with midi yoke, like I do when working with Trollo to use the computer keyboard to make a midi clip and to play vsts.
I can record the output of Trollo, but cannot get the output of KT Trigger recorded as a midi clip. It seems like it should work.

Has anyone done this?

yes ;)

and now for the standard-question.. what host do you use? ;)

I use Tracktion.

i hoped you'd say ableton live, then i could help.. unfortunately i don't know tracktion at all, so i don't know how the midi-routing works there.

one possibility would be to get energyXT (afaik many tracktion users use it for midi-stuff) and use KT Drumtrigger inside it.

P.T., just insert KT DrumTrigger behind an audio-track and insert the drum-vst right behind kt drumtrigger on the same track, make sure either that vsti accepts incoming midi-data on midi-channel 10 or change the midi-channels in KT Drumtrigger to whatever channel the vsti accepts - play around with the filter- and all other settings in KT Drumtrigger and you're done.

Great tools, the only bad thing is that the graphics get really really slow when I use KT in Tracktion, but this might be my system's fault as well.

i use it on cubase, it works ok.

kt drumtrigger is a MONO vst fx. that's important. so i get into session one mono audio track, then i combine KT drumtrigger into that. after i open a midi track and i open KT drumtrigger into the "in" of this track; then i open a vsti(battery or others) in the "out" of the midi track; i push the rec button on the midi track and the i can start to trigger the audio to the midi. for the kicks you can try the low values and for the snare the high. you must try to get the right frequencies.
it's not easy to understand this machine in the beginning  , but after...
...human beatbox can became drums. :-o

ciao

I can get KT Trigger to play a drum Vst, the problem is getting a midi file recorded from KT Trigger's output.
I want to be able to edit the midi.

Post

ok.

in cubase you can edit the midi file.

you make a selection of what you've recorded and after you're able to export what you select like audio or midi file.

is that solves your ploble?

bye

i guess no.. coz he uses tracktion and not cubase ;)

any tracktion user here who can tell P.T. how to route the midi-data from a audio-insert-vst to a midi-track?
