legal use of company and product names for sample libraries

I just want to get everyone's take on what is considered fair use of a company's name and product names when placed on sample libraries. Say I'm a sample producer and I release a set of samples recorded from particular synths. Is it legal to mention the names of those instruments and/or companies in the title of the sample release? On some level the use of the names could be seen as taking advantage of the companies brand recognition that they paid good advertising money to achieve. A library titled "Roland 808 samples" is obviously going to see more action eBay than "electronic drum machine samples". I see producers use the names all the time but could a company hit you where it hurts if they so chose to? Opinions?
