I'm looking for some good but cheap Bass Guitar samples. - Any recommendations?
I like a variety of good quality samples, but preferably not much more than £60 ($114, €89).
All recommendations are greatly appreciated.

(Shameless plug warning) You can give the Cedarbass at prokits a try - very playable. Its really only one instrument, so you don't get a lot of variety, but it is only £4. There's a demo mp3 there

For Kontakt: Chris Hein Warwick Bass - Lite download €59, full (w/FX) €30 more. Lots of character and playing styles, great programming.

(another shameless plug) You might want to add ManyTone Music's Ultimate Bass Kit to your list of basses to check out: http://www.manytone.com/ubk.html
It includes many different styles of bass playing and articulations. Check out the MP3 demos to see what I mean!

The ones at our download page are free, and in sfz format for the sfz player which is also free.
I mean, it can't hurt to check them out, right?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, - I know I'm not going to get professional sounds for the money I'm willing to pay, but I would like something a bit better than free soundfonts. - No offence to the people that make them, they often do a terrific job, but there must be some good, realistic Bass Guitar sounds out there that are better than the stuff I have at the moment?

Well, what style of basslines are you looking for?JumpingJackFlash wrote:Thanks for all the suggestions so far, - I know I'm not going to get professional sounds for the money I'm willing to pay, but I would like something a bit better than free soundfonts. - No offence to the people that make them, they often do a terrific job, but there must be some good, realistic Bass Guitar sounds out there that are better than the stuff I have at the moment?

I'm looking for single hit samples that I can use (preferably in EXS24) to create a realistic sounding Bass Guitar. I'm after the kind of pop sound (not heavy rock or anything); - something that, in a mix, sounds like a bass player up on stage with the rest of the band.Gregjazz wrote:Well, what style of basslines are you looking for?
I've got usable samples already, but I want to take it up a notch if possible, without spending an arm and a leg.
Something like this, but I'm told they're not too good for Bass; - does anyone have any similar recommendations? - Or is all the cheap stuff rubbish?
Thanks.

Hm... anything around 40Euro max that has slides/dives, finger/pick play but fairly clean (no FX) and doesn't necessarily sound like a machine gun while playing?
I'd love to get free ones, but I'm asking for no FX versions because I really like to create my own amped sound.

Kontakt or Halion? haha - I can use them simultaneously if I want. XD
Gotta check the Scarbee Page later then. Any other recommendations?
Or baybe a Sampletank to Kontakt 2 Konverter?
Nevermind - Scarbee is way over my pricerange. 3 different versions, one with 169USD, and two with 79USD each. For this money I could get East West Bass XP, but I don't have the money for it.
So my original question still remains.
