I got this Sonic Reality Capsule, it's the Special Edition, through a group buy a while back.
I'm trying to install these instruments in EXSP24 in Logic Express on my iMac 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
After I run the UFO (Universal Format Output) - I choose EXS24 format - the instruments aren't showing up. Not just when I run EXSP24, but not even showing up when I browse the folders in OSX.
Anyone use any of Sonic Reality's Capsules and have them installed in Logic Pro or Logic Express fine?
I choose the 'Sampler Instruments' folder in Logic when UFO asks where I want to install the instruments. For the samples, I chose 'EXS Factory Samples' as the destination folder. I don't know if this is right.
Of course I'm new to OSX and Mac's so it's certainly possible I'm doing something wrong. Actually I hope I am 'cause I really want to use these instruments in EXSP24.
Any help?
Bob

I remember a while back there was a limit to how many folder directories that EXSP24 could read. If you have a lot of instruments, try temporarily moving some out of the instruments/samples folder and then see if the Capsule will show up. i.e. if you have a akai cdrom folder move the whole thing out, you can always put it back after you test.

Thanks for the reply MW. Appreciate your help.
Turns out you put me on the right path to the solution although the problem wasn't the number of folders I had but something else.
Apparently my 'Sampler Instruments' folder in Logic was locked, protected from any changes. I didn't know this when using the UFO. I received no error message or anything so I just assumed that the UFO did dump the instruments into Logic. Taking about 5-10 minutes for the conversion seemed to bear this out.
But what I had to do was - I first used the UFO to copy the Capsule instruments to a new, different, folder on my harddrive. Then I tried to cut/paste these instruments into Logic. That's when I got a error message about the folder being locked. It asked me to verify my computer password, and voila, the folder unlocked and the instruments were copied to my Logic folder. I am now officially relieved and happy.
Although, it turns out that some of the instruments must not have converted properly because when I load certain instruments and press a key on my midi keyboard, a horrific loud noise comes screetching out of my monitors. Oh well, most of them did translate OK.
Thanks again for your help. Problem solved.
