I'm considering buying Kontakt 2 and I have a question I hope somebody can answer.
I currently have 'Altered States' and 'Adrenaline' which both use Intakt.
The 'instruments' they use are a .nki file which is made up of a number of individual samples.
If I have Kontakt, can I load a single sample from a .nki file, or can I only load the whole 'instrument'?
What I would like to be able to do is select individual samples from different .nki files and create my own 'instruments' where I can map the individual samples to the different outputs within Kontakt, process them differently etc.
Is this possible?

You can create your own instruments like that, but AFAIK you cannot extract the samples from locked sets (e.g. Stormdrum, EWQLSO, GPO). Your new instruments will just reference these samples. And of course you can also load the instruments from these sets, finetune them, and store them as your own new instruments.
