Someone here does know. But, nothing has been officially announced regarding this.
The Miroslav Refills for Reason, though, are dongless right now. Just to know.

Interesting.
If it were to become dongleless, I wonder how close that would bring it to Receptor compatibility.
The Receptor is a tempting beast but I wouldn't seriously contemplate it unless my ST products were compatible at the very least.

[edit] - saw Squids' other post confirming that it will be dongless soon.

Tony Banks of Genesis is using a special dongleless version on his Receptor. I have one too! Will it be dongleless soon for everyone? Only time will tell.Caleb wrote:Interesting.

[edit] - saw Squids' other post confirming that it will be dongless soon. But, it shouldn't stop anyone from getting it now because IF that happened it would be a free update... maybe it's even better to get it now! In case the price went up or who knows? Just kidding. I don't think it will go up. (but get it now anyway from www.esoundz.com - this post sponsored by esoundz
hey I have to sometimes!)
And don't forget to use harmonygardens as a referrer to get your $5 worth of epointz,,,
Squids, didn't you say something somewhere about Philharmonik getting an update that will allow us to use Philharmonik Sounds in ST 2.2??
Any word on this??
That special version would be a really cool "extra" for Platinum eSoundz members who purchased Philharmonik from eSoundz,,, hint hint...

I remember the big announcement that ST2 was Receptor-compatible. I would suspect that Syncrosoft incompatibility with Receptor may have had something to do with this decision (besides the usual "I won't buy something with a dongle", I know of people that say "I won't buy anything that won't run on my Receptor").
I wasn't enthusiastic, but I didn't let the dongle stop me from (eventually) getting MP, since there's really no alternative - other libraries "evoke different emotions" in me, for lack of a better term.
Anyway, it appears that IKM won't be beat up over this any more... and thanks to Squids for whatever he did to help!

I am wondering what will happen to those of us that are currently using it WITH the dongle - will we be able to download an update to not have to use it anymroe and *not* have to tie up a USB port and USB bandwidth?
Thank you,

And will the system view it as a new plugin that doesn't have backwards compatibility with old sessions?PaulG wrote:I am wondering what will happen to those of us that are currently using it WITH the dongle -

Really look forward to the (potential) upcoming advent of dongleless Philharmonik - I'll definitely install it on my laptop and have it with me all the time in that case
and who knows, maybe cutting out the dongle from the system might increase the stability?
I have a question about ST2 compatibility though - does this mean that the SampleTank engine would gain the velocity->sample start macro that Philharmonik has? (this is pretty essential to using the library effectively, imo, but if ST2 doesn't gain it, then I'll just stick to the old Philharmonik engine)

ok great. i really do believe that this is still the finest sounding orchestral plugin for the money. it's that f'ing warmth that gets me every time! i was fine with the dongle but it will be that much better without it.Squids wrote:Should do so fine.Mr. Tunes wrote:And will the system view it as a new plugin that doesn't have backwards compatibility with old sessions?PaulG wrote:I am wondering what will happen to those of us that are currently using it WITH the dongle -

I hope that you allow the OPTION to either use the dongle or not.
The software company BIAS that makes the fantastic PEAK software allows users to choose.
I prefer the option. I move around alot, use different computer, but never use stolen/cracked software. For me, this option works the best.
Horray for Choice! Keep the dongle an option.
PS. Please don't spam me, anybody.

IIRC, Bias uses Pace, which (depending on implementation) can do either. I don't know if that can be done with Syncrosoft.g3g4g5 wrote:I hope that you allow the OPTION to either use the dongle or not.

I'm ok with it either way at this point, but it'd be nice to have my USB port back
