what is the .snd format? can this format be converted to wav. so i can use it in my sampler? thanks

Extreme Sample Converter can do it, and
.snd is 'Solton MS' whatever that is.

Those are Wusikstation presets. Maybe others use them as well.

.snd is more commonly an Akai MPC sound file, typically MPC2000, 3000, or 60. .snd as an extension has been used multiple times (kind of tempting of course)

Ofcourse "snd" is abbreviation of "sound", so that's extremely generic. Each developer is tempted to use this file extension for sounds. So without some background info on your files, or doing some experimentation, you'll never know for sure.
