So NAMM is coming up soon! Anyone heard any good rumors? What's going to be the big hit? What's up the sleeves of the big developers? Is S.O.B. going to finally be unveiled? Or is it going to suck this year?

I really hope "slowpoke" Musiclab finally releases RealGuitar E-Edition as it was promised to us users for over a year (and then some) now.
Else I'm pretty much satisfied, but I get the feeling that East West will present an even bigger orchestra, an even bigger choir and even more samples, Steinberg will "announce" (haha, oh well) Cubase 5 (wouldn't be surprised if they do that) and Wavelab 7 (ditto), Native Instruments maybe Kontakt 3 (now that everything else was updated), and Spectrasonics (finally?) hugs us with some old stuff newly released in VSTi form or maybe even RMX2 that's rumored for a while now.
But all jokes aside, I can't wait to see new videos from DVZ Strings, hopefully news from Musiclab (finally) and maybe a lifesign from Luxonix. Everything else doesn't interest me that much, unless it's something never before seen. But for this we have to wait till the NAMM is over.

Yeah, a longer wait than you think.original flipper wrote:HI

Rumor on the Propellerhead's forum is that they are putting their development energies into a new audio app anyway. I wouldn't expect too much more for Reason. Given their track record, it may just go the way of ReBirth.

Mackie Tracktion 3 will be previewed and launched. <known>
Cakewalk will show Project 5, v2.5 (freatures known - see earlier thread on this).
Propellerhead are definitely making a big announcement (pretty clear from reading James Bernard's recent posts on their forum). NOT ReCycle update, so either Reason 4 (or 3.5) or something brand new.
I think those will be the biggest software headlines for this January's show, unless Apple have anything to unveil...
In terms of hardware, Yamaha's forthcoming show announcements have already been posted on their site, and include better/deeper hardware integration with Cubase and Arturia stuff.

That would surprise me.headquest wrote: Propellerhead are definitely making a big announcement
Hm. Not the ones I read, but hey, I'm not there every day, and that forum is pretty annoying to keep up with.(pretty clear from reading James Bernard's recent posts on their forum).
Ny guess is none of the above. They haven't used NAMM to announce anything since Reason 1.0 anyway, so I wouldn't hold my breathNOT ReCycle update, so either Reason 4 (or 3.5) or something brand new.
