I've never used this type of synth before an dI would like to know where I can get some tips before buying, I'd also like to know where a blank patch is

The M42 and M51 are FANTASTIC synths that BEG to be played with.

Cannot go wrong with either of these. They are way underpriced in my opinion.

If you download the demos of M42 and M51, the "default" patch is at the end of the bank. You migt be surprised at what you can come up with.
