hi everyone,
last weekend i and a friend had a real good time spending a whole damn night in front of a pc, jamming in ableton live. later we talked about how our workflow could be improved from a technical point of view.

we figured it must be possible to create a multiple-user software solution for audio production. a two-men interface. two pc's working one and the same application. imagine you have two interfaces (2 screens, keyboards, mice, controllers) and the possibility to see what your partner does in realtime on a "global screen". when you edit settings or audio or midi material you do it in the "individual screen" which only you can see. changes done there take effect for the other user as well.

wouldn't this somehow eliminate the sad fact that you cannot really make music in a GROUP of people using a pc?

maybe this could simply be achieved over LAN? i mean yes, you can sync two pc's running ableton live but it's not really one app then.

does a solution exist? would it make sense after all?

and now, write write write!!! ;)

I assume this is all in one room.

If one computer is not enough then get more and connect with FX Teleport.

Use the main computer to connect mice, keyboards and midi instruments.
A dual monitor video card will give you two monitors. If you need more monitors there sell adapters that will do that.

Each user gets a certain midi channels for them selves.
