Hi there. I posted a full SR NAMM report with pics and stories on our myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/sonicreality

Here are a few blurbs form it: Sonic Reality was at NAMM with both IK Multimedia and also its own booth this time partnering up with one of the most acclaimed studios in the world, Ocean Way. If you want to read about Sonic Reality/Ocean Way's "Ocean Way Drums" as well as other announcements from the show then go here:

As you can see in the booth we had quite a few Gold and Platinum records on the wall. These are albums that have been recorded at Ocean Way Studios including recent albums from Radiohead, Green Day, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and more.

This is our partner on the Ocean Way Drums project, legendary engineer/producer Allen Sides. Allen has done over 500 albums and has worked on over 1,000. In other words he has experience recording! Haha. He is also the owner of Ocean Way. Of course everyone at Sonic Reality is extremely honored to be working with him and our other partner Steven Miller who couldn't make it to the show because he's recording Dave Matthews Band. Must be tough!

Okay, more pictures and stories from NAMM...

Here I am talking about the new Miroslav Philharmonik Classik Edition which is a less expensive cut down version of the popular Miroslav Philharmonik plug-in. But, when I say cut down I should say that for $249. msrp it STILL has almost all of the sounds from Miroslav's original $3,000+ orchestral library. This Classik Edition is a great choice for anyone who wants to add beautiful strings, winds, brass and other symphonic sounds to their music without having to spend a fortune.

Here's Nick D'Virgilio playing Ocean Way Drums on a V-Drum kit.

Accompanying IK's CEO Enrico Iori at the IK press conference unveiling the AmpliTube 2 Jimi Hendrix edition and the upcoming release of the AmpliTube Stomp IO audio interface/floor controller.

Some of the delish pedals modeled in the Jimi Hendrix Edition. I just went to a store in Hollywood that sold these pedals in hardware together for over $5,000. So I think a lot of people are going to like the AT2 Jimi Hendrix Edition for its low $200-ish price... myseld included! (they wanted $1,800 for the Univibe alone!!!)

Allen Sides and Alan Parsons with Squids!

Image

Squids, Allen Sides and Ken Scott (who recorded The Beatles, Bowie, Supertramp...).

It was a great show and I got to meet some major recording engineers like Alan Parsons, Ken Scott, Chris Lorde-Alge and Eddie Kramer.

Anyway, much more info and pics on the myspace page so go check it out and if you're on there you should add SR as a friend.

Enjoy!

Same place as last year but we just expanded into where Sibelius was. Actually that space was originally Qup Arts' but since we joined forces with them last year we took over the space so it was 30X10 this time. We were probably the noisy neighbor but Pre-Sonus had a larger stage right next to us and got in more trouble with the DB Police. We had the Mike Keneally Band (great musicians) jamming and the DB Police guy came by with his DB meter and we had to turn it down absurdly low. Shame really. They get so uptight about that stuff but it's supposed to be fun. Well, we had fun anyway.

ah right on. the sonicstate video started working for me just now, i guess they fixed it this week. also just checked out the Ocean Way Studio B info on their site. The only thing i have in common with them is a pair of AKG 240 headphones hah. I dont think they have enough microphones btw. :hihi:

Cool, Dave. For next year I wish some extra expansion at your booth.
Some famous, good looking singers swinging their hips (that don't lie) would be nice. I think Shakira would do. :hihi:

OK, Beyonce would be fine, too.

Sorry just producers, engineers and amazing musicians. There's enough bling in the booth as it is but I draw the line at singer/dancers (at least in the booth... I used to be good pals with one of Madonna's main singer/dancers named Donna DeLory. I played Harmonium on her album and it was harmonius). I did also sample sounds for Beyonce's tour but never met her in person. She's hot. Squids likes.

I also posted some pics from The Who concert. Pete and Rabbit are using IK and SR products and loving them. Pete even emailed me and said he was a fan! How bizarre is that. More info on the myspace blog: http://www.myspace.com/sonicreality

Who/where is the guy you mentioned earlier who would be playing some odd, new instrument at your booth?

Post

Yes, that is what I wanted to know!

Here's a pic of it at the end of our booth. I have to see if I have any pics of it (a lot of mine didn't come out so good).

Anyway, it's really cool! You can play 192 notes from a space not that much larger than a laptop. But also the way it is set up you can play in different directions and sound musical easily. So, the irony is that it is maybe even easier to play than a traditional keyboard. I want one. They had prototypes at the show and the owner is like a hip Obi-Wan Kenobi.
