Pod, Gearbox and ASIO = headache?

I'm probably getting a Pod XT Live together with the Gearbox effects plugin.

It will complement my setup together with a few VST-instruments etc. My sequencer is Tracktion and my soundcard MAudio Audiophile 192.

I've heard that there may be possible conflicts between using the Pod+Gearbox together with ASIO soundcards, since the Pod itself acts as a soundcard. Is this right? Anything I should be aware of in this field before purchase?
