M-Audio DMP3 vs Mackie ONYX?

Hi. Has anyone compared these two preamps? Which one do you think sounds best?

They are both in the same class like the VTB-1 you already have.
Do you really want to be unsatisfied in a few months again? If no, you're better to safe your money for the pro-class, that will satisfy you forever.

The DMP3 is a damn good dual mic pre for $160.
That said, it probably is in the same range sound-wise as the VTB-1.
I'm curious about the SPL Goldmike. It doesn't get a lot of press, but I seem to recall reading a couple of praising reviews.... I would think it's a notch or two above the units you're asking about... Are you not happy with it?
