i think it would be great if there was a graphics program that let you plan out live pa setups so you could figure out what cables you need. it would be sort of like reaktor but very simple and geared towards building simulations. more advanced users would use it for rigging a large auditorium show and hobbyists could use it for their home studio or small gigs. good idea?

Maybe it is, indeed...
But pen + paper work really well for me so far. And in the studio or during gigs I just connect everything while I know I have enough cables of the right kind (unless some are defect or displaced.) All cables of certain kinds go in seperate bags so I can grab them directly.
Nevertheless, it's an idea. Maybe you can use existing flowcharter software for this, like e.g. MS Visio.

We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
