does anybody have any idea what this box is in this pic?

looks like the word "cyber" on it. i am thinking it's something that you plug a guitar into, and then in turn into a computer?

i am trying to figure out how to get a decent guitar sound with my Mac, so i was thinking about checking out what this device was all about.
