Are there any synths, samplers that offer an assortmnent of great "choir" sounds and vocals or "vox" type patches?

I expected Atmosphere would have a good assortment, but I don't think it has more than a few

I'd like to use them for drones, backgrounds, ethereal pieces, etc

I would vote for the "Symphony of Voices" samples collection by Spectrasonics. The problem is that its quite expensive and only comes in Akai/Emu, Roland formats.

I don't how serious you are about it but if you want the best children choir around Bela D are having a group buy atm. with 1/2 price reached - $199. Sounds fantastic.

If you are not too bothered about realism but just want something choir-ish but many different presets you could try Vox'd from BITR (scroll down)

Still a very limited assortment out there... In addition to those mentioned,
