Sorry for the silly topic (title) but i just have to know. I hear them a lot... in dub-like tracks: organs /piano's / rhodes type of sounds. But i have no clue where to find these types of sound or in sample libraries perhaps. An example: http://217.160.71.18/f/mil/mil2cd139t1.m3u

Play that in winamp, its the organ type sound that kicks after 2/3 seconds... can someone point me in the right direction?

Another example: http://www.pitchblack.co.nz/downloads/soliton_lo.mp3 (first sound you hear)

Thanks for your help... :)

You can try Hexter for that sound of a "good old synth that wanted to emulate real instruments but miserably failed".
Google for additional dx7 sysex banks to import.
Use lots of reverb.

you hear a similar sound in lots of dubby microhouse on thinner and whatnot.

It's just a synthesised e-piano sound, thru (maybe) chorus or phaser and echo. I've heard (kinda) similar sounding presets in fm7. Team it up with a 7th & faux-analog delay and you're neo-dub master.

OOPS !
I forgot CuteVST took down Hexter download because it was not 100% compatible with GPL.
If you don't have it already (version 1.3) i can upload it to rapidshare for you.

1000s of free dx7 banks:

You are probably much closer to the truth than me.
I'm a metalhead - i don't listen to this "dubby microhouse" type of music (i don't even know what it is hehehe).
