Dunno weathe S-700 or MPC-4000 is multi-layered...
-be a drum machine
-be a synthesizer
-arpeggiate a sample
Since it includes a sampler, it should indeed!
-be able to load more than 128MB of samples

So weather you can load the whole 512 MB (expanded!) with samples is not clear.
-offer live tweaking of the above 3
-allow live playing of samples via midi keyboard along with the sequenced stuff
I suggest you download the manual from Roland:

Maybe your questions are then answered...

512MB?! This thing is sweet.
I will do my homework on this one.
And from what i know; the MPC4000 does multisampling so this one should too...
Thanks for your reply! :D
Anyone with additional comments; feel free to offer your opinions on this.
Thanks!

One huge thing to me atleast is that the MPC4000 has 24bit support.. The MV is only 16bit.

Yes, and the resolution is also much better on the MPC, as well as the fact that the sequencer is 300,000 notes instead of 150,000...
But i hate the MCP interface, and i prefer the setup of the MV8000.
And i love the sound of the MV8000's internal synthesizer.
