Anyone got any experience with this little thing? I need some help.
I just got myself a Boss VT-1, hooked the Line-out to the Mic-in port on my computer and my tabletop mic to the Mic-in port on the VT-1 by using a mini-jack to phono adapter/plug.
Should work, right? No, Here's my problem. All I get is bad static and even worse when I try speaking through the mic.
The "Peak" light on the VT-1 should blink to show the amount of sound coming through the mic, but it stays unlit. I know the mic works, because I use it all the time on my computer.
Do you think it could be that the tabletop mic isn't fit for the job? (I've tried two of'em and I know they're supposed to work.) Or could it be something else.. I'm not using the power adapter that came with it, but another one that's 9V aswell.
Anyone got any advice?

you might want to try a preamp or mixer to help level the sound out.
Also, try simply hooking the VT-1 and microphone up to an amplifier and see if the static persists.
If it's still crapping out, it might be the VT-1 (assuming the mic is fine)

Not specificly, but let's see anyway...immelman wrote:Anyone got any experience with this little thing?
You should have used the Mic-Out port to go into the Mic-In of the computer. Line-out has a much higher voltage. It's not unthinkable you've fried the mic preamp of your sound chip.immelman wrote:hooked the Line-out to the Mic-in port on my computer
Are you sure the adapter is OK? All plugs fully inserted??immelman wrote:and my tabletop mic to the Mic-in port on the VT-1 by using a mini-jack to phono adapter/plug.
Please DO use the supplied Boss power adapter, since you're still clueless what's exactly wrong. Could be that your power adapter has reversed polarity...immelman wrote:I'm not using the power adapter that came with it, but another one that's 9V aswell.
