OK Fine. Here is a NEW thread about rudeness, then.

OK, in order to clear the air of any personality issues, I have started this new thread about rudeness in this forum.
Do you think it's a problem here?
If so, why?

I like it here thanks. I just don't know any other way to collab with musicians in Australia, Israel, Greece and Germany, all in the same day.

Unfortunately, it's a problem in most discussion forums. If you want to participate, you have to put up with a few rude people.
The best thing is to not get sucked into arguments and don't take the discussions too seriousley.

Truffles: Any of various fleshy, edible fungi ... that grow underground on or near the roots of trees and are valued as a delicacy.
Some people gobble up rudeness like it's a delicacy. Yet even the truffles need the shade of the majestic trees to thrive.

So you find the Music Theory forum rude?
As opposed to the other forums in KvR or as well as...? Just curious.
Would you be able to elaborate a little further on rude? Do you mean pompous, "I know everything - you obvious don't", arguing over music theory minutiae kind of rude, or do you mean "You're a c**t!" type of rude?
Regards
Caleb

Well, I guess it is just that the MT forum was created to avoid this sort of thing. Sort of.Caleb wrote:So you find the Music Theory forum rude?

This is not about personalities. I mean, theory threads always had a tendency to get nasty. The tendency transcends any particular member or members.
I had hoped to sidestep this, sort of make it a low key, geeks only sort of place like the DSP forum. But such was not to be.

Both of us, yes, and Millicent is smarter by far. In my case it's mostly the dignified mien and reputation as an understated international sex symbol that give an appearance of power; an illusion, I assure you, yet a useful one from time to time.herodotus wrote:Are all the skunks of Croatan thus?
Pretty weak examples of rudeness we're exhibiting here. :-S Such is life. For the nonce, pleased to sincerely your acquaintance. *bow*
