USB HID to VST Converter Plugin

I'm developing a product that can fucntion as either a wind instrument or a breath controller. I now have a prototype with a USB HID interface that I'm using with MAX/MSP for prototyping. (on Win XP).

Does a plugin exit that directly reads data from USB HID devices like joysticks, etc, and makes it available as control signals in VST? As with MAX/MSP I'd like the flexibility of getting the data directly in to a VST setup without the bottleneck and reduction of precision that USB will cause. For example I'd like to use SynthEdit to develop some synths that use the higher precision data directly, and bypass MIDI note ons and offs which don't make sense for some wind instruments.

If such a plugin does not exist, I may be interested in hiring someone familiar with VST programming who could develop it for me. I don't think it would be a huge job to someone who knows VST programming.

Note that I am also developing a USB MIDI driver for my product that will work with standard Windows and Mac drivers, but even when I have it I'd rather have the option of getting data into VST directly with HID which has tighter timing and higher resolution.

I first need this for Windows, but would also eventually need a similar solution on Mac.

Anyone knowing of an existing solution or interested in doing the work for me on contract please contact me.

Yeah, there's quite a few joystick to MIDI apps out there.

try GlovePIE, this is the most advanced one. You can generate mouse, keybord or MIDI messages from near every controller includin WII
