Looking for a tool to sort my huge collection

Hello there,

I am looking for some tool that is capable of sorting my complete sample collection. What I am expecting of this tool is that it should be able to recognize samples by their spectral character / fingerprint. This means the tool should be able to determine whether a given audio file is a bass drum, a snare or a trumpet. You should maybe define the fingerprints it has to check against. But it shall be possible to use this tool in a batch mode where it then creates directories for each catagory (bass drums, snares, trumpets) and moves the recognized samples to, given them a unique filename.

Is there any kind of such a tool availble to date? Does anyone have a solution for NOT havung to manually sort the samples of a huge pool?

What i would like to do is e.g. to sort out all the bass drums from a given directory (including all subdirectories) and have then sort into a separate directory. The best thing would be to even have those bass drums be separated into categories - like kick bd, deep bd, distorted bd etc.

Can some tell me there is such a thing available? I would pay "anything" for it!!

Thank you.

Cheers,
Oli

Soundminer on the mac has spectral analysis/comparison, but when we looked at buying it about a year ago it was around $1k per license if I remember rightly.
