P4 denormalization

dose anyone get processor spikes while using ambancewitha P4 when i turn it on In Nuendo 1.6.1 it uses 20% of a 1.9Ghz P4 wich is ok i knew its was a little CPU hungry but i do get cpu spikes with the plugin turned on anybody else seeing this happen??
