Hi there!
I'd appreciate a tip on how this sound is made? I've heard this style of sound on chords in many funky records ...
http://rapidshare.com/files/22313578/VE ... 6.wav.html
Does it have to do with a lot of filtering?
Thank you for some hints on the vst and procedure involved!
Kind regards
Pablo

While you wait for someone more qualified to respond, I'll give it a go.
Sounds like the whole mix (bass, chords, drums) is passed through a flanger and heavily compressed.
I'm not sure of what should be the source sound for the chords. I would try with a supersaw and maybe some distortion but I don't know really.

try a Piano with supersaw + phaser
But I am not 100% sure about that.
You could ask the creator (www.vengeance-forum.com)
btw: I do not think, Vengeance will like it, when you post samples from the Essential House vol.2 SampleCD here

I'm also sure it's piano and some pad sound with heavy phaser on top. What funky records have you heard this on? Sounds very Filter-House like to me, not necessarily funky. But I don't want to split hairs here. Sorry.

the tools you should be messing with are vocoders, filters (especially ones with modulation et) flangers, feels like that a sample hit, of a synthy mix of things chopped up too to sound sampled, before going through the fx whih have mushed it up.....
tbh its a very messybit of production.....anyone else noticed this about all the vengeance cds? horrible top ends...especially the hats n stuff.

i suppose its a matter of taste then...
i prefer to add dirt myself and the nasty sound he has with the hats really dont go for my kind of music..
minimal, techno / house - i go for the bookashade / trentemoller sounds which is a world away from that...
+ all club music doesnt have to be "banging" infact most of it isnt...well i suppose that sums it up tho manual is really a trance hardstyle person aint he!
