Haven't posted here in awhile. Did 14 songs in February for the FAWM challenge. This was one of my favorites, one of the better jam-along outputs I had from Jamstix.

that's a very decent earthy sound.. seemed a bit sparse, sort of work in progress, but as a jam it's good and the dynamics work well.
Who/what played the drums, what type of micing, set up etc? bass?
details! NOW!
by the way I just happened to have one of my guitars on DADADF# tuning (and on my lap) so I was jamming along as it started. If you're thinking of adding something more to the song I suggest a rhythm part on that specific "slide" tuning. seemed to work well. a bit more cowboy in the mix.

The drums were none other than Jamstix. I'll have to see which kit was loaded, but it was one of the native kits that come with Jamstix. So, you'll have to ask Ralph Zeuner about the micing. I used the keyword jam feature and I think I had the set of rhythms known as 'moon' loaded up - I fed jamstix with the audio from the acoustic guitar track, which was direct feed from the K+K mini pure western contact transducer I have loaded in the guitar (recently put that one in after the fishman on-board pre-amp crapped out). The K+K is light years better than the fishman UST. I did EQ it to try to sound like when I mic the guitar.
Bass was my cheapo $119 chinese made Custom P-Bass knock-off from SX (www.rondomusic.net) played through probably Mackie's mini mono comp and then into Voxengo Boogex with an Eden cab simulation in place.
The electric guitar is my MIM Fender fat strat into Amplitube LE.
Everything washed with Final Mix from Mackie; don't know which preset, but I can pull up the Tracktion project and find out.
I think this is the best result I've had from Jamstix so far - certainly the most musical output where it really felt like I was playing with a real drummer.

Details:
Jamstix default kit, nearly zero compression on Jamstix output, Keyword jam using the Graf Zeppelin group of patterns.
Bass was effected with this signal chain - bass-->PreSonus Firebox line in-->Ggate-->Gtune-->Gcomp (with settings in picture below)-->Voxengo Boogex with an Ampeg cab sim and the settings in the picture below.
Mackie Final Mix on the 1st preset, Acuma CD Mastering applied to the whole mix.

I would have to conclude that's a seriously good sounding kit and patterns. I honestly couldn't tell that it wasn't a live session on a real kit. Well maybe under looking glass, but that's besides the point already.
