I've got an NT1000, it's a bit bright with a boost somewhere between 4-5k, and I'm really getting tired of it. As far as the other two, I have no experience with them, but I've heard absolutely excellent things about M-Audio's Sputnik (might be out of your price range though).

Well, then try the mics out yourself.

I try to avoid being hostile especially considering how this place gets sometimes, but it's responses like that which make people not want to help in the first place. I'm all for playing nice, but I wouldn't let someone get away with slapping me in the face either.
I've even gone back and edited my post to at least remove the "I'm just really annoyed at the moment" profanity.

Hey. I guess NT1a and NT1000 are quite similar. I have this NT1a mic and I think that there is quite lot of bright boost in that mic. But it is much better to have that boost, than try to make that boost by eq. It is very easy to cut down those hz if needed. I like this Rode NT1a mic a lot. It has been fantastic for vocs & acoustic guitar (nylon & steel string).
So KADAR did you had some problems with the mic cause you're comparing it to M-AUDIO NOVA & BEHRINGER B-2? If you are thinking about price of NT1a I think it is very reasonable for that sound quality...

No im comparing it because all three of them look the same and im pretty sure that maudio and behringer ripped off the rode mic and sold em cheap.m_luhtala wrote:Hey. I use the Rode NT1a mainly for recording acoustic guitars. And it does this very well.
I stopped using it as a vocal mic since loud sibilants are a bit of an issue with this mic.

Okay... well I think those MICS (Rode, Behringer and M-Audio) look bit same, but there's differences. In Behringer B2 there's a possibility for mic pattern selection (IN RODE NT2a pattern selection possibility not in NT1a). Then there's bit different kind of freq range in Nova than in NT1a & B2. But all in all I guess there's a lot of similarities in condenser cardioid microphones in that price range (100-230euro)...
Martin E: You are talking about loud-sibilants. Could you explain bit more??? I'm not sure did I understand the word correctly...

All the consonants like the "s"and "t" sounds are sibilants. They can be pretty annoying in a vocal track. Often a D-esser is used to control the sibilants. I'm not very fond of using a D-esser myself.m_luhtala wrote: Martin E: You are talking about loud-sibilants. Could you explain bit more??? I'm not sure did I understand the word correctly...
