Ok, so my past setup was a cheap Edirol MIDI controller going into my BCR2000(midi interface w/ knobs and buttons), which sent the MIDI data to my computer via USB. I never had any problems with this setup, but recently the keys have been dying on the Edirol, and so I got myself the spiffy Novation Remote SL.

I connected it to my computer via USB, and spent hours playing with the knobs and sliders using Automap Universal (drool!!!), and then decided to actually try it out for playing the keys and drum pads. And so I record a track in Cubase SX, and by sound it was triggering with no latency, but when I played back, everything was about 1/2 a bar off!!!

I thought "this cannot be". So I closed Cubase, and then rebooted Cubase to try again. I was happy to see that this time my MIDI data was being recorded perfectly, and so I went about building up a song.

But as time went by, it seemed like the MIDI timing was drifting. And so I decided to put it through a test.

I opened cubase, loaded the B4, put on the click, and then recorded 4 bars of me hitting a key for each click (every quarter note). The timing was perfect as humanly possible. I left Cubase running, and left the room to make a coffee

I came back 15 minutes later, and did the exact same thing, but this time the recorded MIDI was almost a 16th note off.

So I waited 10 more minutes and...now it's over a half note off!!!!

This cannot be!!!

As I mentioned, both the BCR2000 and the Remote SL use USB to interface with my computer. The BCR2000 has not been connected since I plugged the Remote SL.

Any suggestions?
