"overblown" sax sound

How to make that sound...

I have lots of "polite" sax samples and patches on various hardware and software synths. I want to emulate that hard blown sax sound that sax players often use in solos eg. the sax solo in Joe Cocker's "Unchain My Heart". I was thinking that I might be able to do some kind of FM modulation of the "polite" samples. Does anyone have any tips on generating the sound that I am after?

FM modulation of samples? i've no idea if that will get you what you want, but I do know that HarmVisser's collection for Reaktor has a very good sax model with an overblow parameter.
I stuck an mp3 up here if you want a listen..

does that help?

Thats about the right sound but I am not using Reactor - but thanks. The reason that I thought of FM on samples is that approach was used by Yamaha in their very last series of FM synths (SY99) for this kind of effect. I didn't want to waste a lot of time experimenting if someone already knows the recipe.

It's done with Xhip. Here is the thread where it comes from.
But I don't remember exactly how I did it , I can't find the patch.

stick a mic in front of a nice sax player. You cannot get a sax players phrasing using a MIDI interface
