Hi. I have an SPL Goldmike 9844 as one of my main pres and am wondering would changing/upgrading the tubes improve the audio quality? I use this pre mainly for vocals.
If changing the tubes would be an improvement which tubes should I go for? The factory tubes are ECC 83 dual triode.
Which tubes to upgrade SPL Goldmike?

it's essentially a opamp based solid state (integrated circuit) preamp, with a tube slapped on top to crunch up things just slightly. changing the tube (one per channel, starved plate AFAIK) will have a negligible impact.
