It is an excellent synth, and with Zebra 2 I have (to me) the best soft synths out there.
That being said, I'm glad I left Albino 2 installed as well. Sometimes I don't want the CPU load or the hassle of Albino 3. Also, I am one of those that prefer the GUI of Albino 2. But.... even so, Slbino 3 is fantastic! And yes, I will be there for Albino 4.

Gee, do ya think there will be an Albino 4 ($$$$$$$), ?system20 wrote:if there ever is an Albino4, please keep the layer feature !
IMHO, they owe it to the V3 users to find a way to make the GUI a little easier on the eyes. Personally, I miss my V1 Albino every time I have to look at this thing. Maybe it's time for skins, yeah?
Aside from the ahhorrable shades of red/pink on a starch white background, I do, in fact, love the tone.

I haven't compared the two but all I know is I'm able to have 10 or 11 instances of Albino 3 running at once without a problem, even when several of them are using up to 3 layers.Dewaine wrote:Sometimes I don't want the CPU load...
These have been posted in the Music Cafe' before, but they are essentially all Albino 3...
13 instances of Albino 3 + one TR606 drum track played through Battery 3:Trois Albinos
15 instances of Albino 3 + one drum track from GTG FreeDrum:Switchback
In both cases I had at least 3 layered presets, sometimes as many as 5, playing at once with a total of 10 or 11 instances playing live. After that my CPU (AMD Athlon64 4000+, 2.41 GHz)would crap out, so I'd freeze tracks to add new ones.

...what is wrong with Albino's GUI?
I found that I would like some sort of Master FX section very much - to route the four layers into one FX section again. I admit, I could use the FX version of Albino for that, but I'd found it useful to have it in the synth itself...

...using one synth patch on three times on different layers, using a lp, bp, hp filter to create dedicated low, mid & high components, then treating each layer with different fx and finally sending the whole thing into the master fx for additional saturation and filtering - the dnb heads among us would be in heaven

Dunno either. I really like its GUI.loachm wrote:...what is wrong with Albino's GUI?
Master FX? I agree, that would be extremely useful!

I'm still on Albino 2. That synth is essential to my tracks, just could not live without it.
Love it to bits.
