*edit* oh yeah - README on REEDESQUE or DOOM
3 items -
1) synthedit materials
2) 'kl tract'
quick vsti = very in dev. i'm online now tho. kelly-lochbaum voice synthesis is a bunch of waveguides that use reflection coefficients to model area. 8 bands in throat and 3 for nose + reflection coefficients at all termini to help you understand the 'r1' et c. sliders.. just think surface area. i think dectalk used an 8-5 model.. used feedback vals .9 to 1.1 so it can overdrive (like most waveguides) but has advanced limiting (so less earburn.. really!) the c++ src has a little ascii sketch. i could work on a 3-way jct that is friendlier in overdriven mileu.
3) reedesque
'best candidate reed' atm. both kl and reedesque use oscillators before the waveguide.. future releases will couple reed motion in model (bermoulli = this week..)
reedesque is osc + bpfed noise --> waveshaper --> delay line with damping and nonlinearity, so uses subtractive and waveguide. in some ways flexible some ways not, i figure there are some performance ranges that might be ~emulatey, tho the 'osc into tuned delay' dynamic is readily apparent if pushed.
the tract vsti (coupled with modeled glottis for good quality) will have two sets of coeffs and lfos et c. so you can blend between them for 'o-a-o-a-o-a' stuff.. and effects v.. unless a dandy phoneme sequencing scheme for vsti occurs to me.
FUTURE DEV REQUESTS..
i've got a few mode models i intend to do - plucked + bowed string.. waveguided upright bass cab.. then i'm off to do my own thing. any sensible waveguide requests?
how about a guitar model coupled to p/up and amp/room sim for feedback.. enough interest? if so, how many strings do you want.. consider each string = 4 waveguides (for touch harmonics) + the rest of it.. 6 strings will probably take 1/3 your cpu. 4? 3?
if so, pls contribute distortion algorithms.. since this is a se vst/sem they will have to be internal. i'm not a big distortion afficionado. i'm not, i'm not.
what's the past tense of know?
knew!

xoxos, I seriously can't even imagine how you manage to handle all those developments at once
. You're a physical modelling powerhouse. Most probably some are tied together etc but I can't help but wonder what would happen if you focused on much less at a time
.
Thanks, will check it out later.

KL Tract is amazing. I don't know how you do it, Rurik, but you're a genius.

kelly lochbaum is like 50 years ago..
quote - "In 1962, John L. Kelly and Carol C. Lochbaum published a software version of a digitized vocal-tract analog model"
serious.
can use same principle to design weird bells on brass et c.

It's the synthedit application which is half the amazement.

XOXOXOXOXOX, the 'kl tract' is a good VSTi, but sometimes if I move a slider(s) too quickly it gives me very bad high-pitched squeals (not distortion)... sounds very close to microphone feedback...

I'm running TobyBear's Arpimedes into these, it's great for smooth trance.

Thanks, xoxos! these are wonderful! reedesque has a really hard time in Live 6.0.7 (crashes whenever ANY note is played on ANY preset...) but kl tract has no problems at all in L6. BOTH work fine in eXT 1.4
I'll be abusing these aLOT!
