Kontakt - how is it doing now?

When released I read loads of stuff about instability and incompability - I did a search here but I'm not sure if everything is working cool now. Any opinions? Avoid or Go?

I think now's a good time to go with it. I've been using Kontakt since 1.0, and there are a couple of things about v2 that I don't like as much as v1, but right now there simply is no other game in town for samplers. Nothing stacks up to Kontakt in terms of platform and format support, and it's interface is pretty easy to understand and use.

I'm running it (latest version)in FL7 without even a hiccup. I'm doubly excited because I just bought a bunch of samplesets from Zero-G and Homegrown sounds with some absolutely exquisite pads and atmospheres. So yummy!

...in general it's very stable now and with the enhanced fx channels and additional fx you can do some really cool stuff with it...

@bduffy: 100% Kontakt! Just that sample from the original poster and Kontakt (the first eight bars are the dry sample without fx and modulations)...

No shit. Very nice! I didn't know there was an original sample...oh, I see it's just the saw-thingy...goddamn, very nice indeed! Ha ha ha...I'll have to bug you for some advice, if I ever get back into serious work with Kontakt (haven't been doing much heavy editing lately).loachm wrote:andy_glitch wrote:we have to login/register to listen.loachm wrote:...in general it's very stable now and with the enhanced fx channels and additional fx you can do some really cool stuff with it...

Sure thing. While you're here: are you doing the pitch bends with a pitch wheel, or do you edit them by hand?loachm wrote:...thanks for the compliment - feel free to contact me anytime...

Cool. That's what I'd do, as I don't have a keyboard right now..loachm wrote:...no, I just program them...bduffy wrote:Sure thing. Yeah, well you never know with some dial-jockeys! I don't talk to much junglists directly, so I haven't had a chance to explore the methods behind it. I kind of assumed the composing is more programmed than performed, but some people do live sets, so I wasn't sure.loachm wrote:... at this tempo playing and modulating wouldn't work anyway...
...and when it comes to me I can't even do it at much slower tempi...![]()
