Can anyone help me here..?

I would like to control some parameters on external gear which can only be accessed through Sysex, but my rubbishy UC33e doesn't have enough Sysex control, so I figured - MidiYoke. Shouldn't I be able to convert my CC data to Sysex data or am I completely freakin' bonkers?

oo - the DataMapping function seems to do something useful, but it looks as though the output values are fixed in the sysex message. Is it possible to have this data translated over a range?

The mGUI plugin can do this, if used in Hermann Seib's VstHost, but it won't be easy to set up ... ;-)

Find yourself an old Lexicon MRC. They're dirt cheap these days (I picked mine up for $50 about seven years ago), and each slider can be configured to send either CCs or sysex strings with updating values. I use mine as a controller box for my Matrix-6

cheers ew - sounds great and cheap. Nothing on ebay at the moment, I'll have to keep my ears to the ground.

bloomin'eck asseca! that looks like a challenge! not sure I've got the time at the moment.. ;)

Had an MRC.. I was not able to configure sysex strings on my OS afaik - could only configure CC & some preset sysex for certain boxes (had a cool DX7 control though) - easy OS is slightly different.. can be used as a MIDI merge though. Nice little box, but only 4 faders.
I'd say go for the Novation Remote Zero SL.. one hell of a controller - does anything you can think of.. way more options, and you get much more than the MRC - I love my SL.

this might do it bomes midi translator
or something like MIDIQuest .. but ya, I'd love a quick easy MIDICC2sysex VST that I could just just keep adding more lines of conversions to like a spreadsheet (need many more than just 8 for some synths).. possibly something out there already.. not sure if GOMP does it.. or any of NicFit or Soma's MIDI fx plugins.

Yeah, there's only four sliders and four buttons. But, there's two pages per preset. And, if you're just sending sysex, it's really easy to step through presets to cover any sysex needs you have.

I've got everything but the mod matrix mapped out with the Matrix-6; it runs over eight presets (some things are assigned to buttons).

Very cool.. I never saw the ability to send user defined sysex strings. Maybe it was the OS version I had. Which OS do you have FWIW? Nice little box btw. My LCD hummed, and it required an AC adapter (not DC) if I remember correctly, so try to get one with the adapter included if possible.
This is quite easy to do on the Novation, and it's USB bus powered.
I guess it comes down to $50 or $300.. cheap & limited, or more $ & more ease/power. Cheers

Version 3.0.1 for the software. Yeah, it's a noisy little sucker.

Mine was an earlier version.. 1 or 2 .. I like the shape/size and the semi-submerged faders though, cool design. I was using the 2 cv ins on the unit.. running an analogue sequencer into them, fun.. also hooked-up a joystick (9v battery attached) to get a midi joystick going.. wouldn't bother with that stuff today .. but it was fun at the time :)
