...I don't get the f*cking search function of this site... :x

...I'm looking for a thread where someone showed that the drumloop in Prodigy's "Firestarter" has been sampled from some version of "Light My Fire". Does anybody know this thread or does anybody know which version of "Light My Fire" this has been? All the versions from The Doors that are in my record collection don't feature this loop and searching on Amazon and Google lead to nowhere.

:help: :help: :help:

Some info here. He does'nt mention the Firestarter/Light my fire sample though.

...thanks for that - I already looked through this. No, it was posted here on KVR (even the drumloop, I think), but I can't find the thread due to the dumb search function (and I'm sure either the Doors or the Prodigy and the song titles have been mentioned there). I really hope someone remembers this or that the original poster is a KVR regular...

I remember this. Chase was the OP, I think.

Now, it's a cover of Light My Fire by Hbp Mix, which can be found on 'The Mood Mosaic vol. 8 - Funky In a Minor Mode'

...wow, thanks a lot! I guess, I have discovered a new compilation series (seems to be rare) - and nice covers :D...

No worries. Happy to help. :tu:

I don't know about that guys, H.P.B. Mix's version was released in 1999, Prodigy's Firestarter was released in 1996.

...I don't know HPB. All I know is that the drumloop seems to be from some version of "Light My Fire" which sounded pretty oldschool to me and it seems that the music on these Mood Mosaic compilations is from the 60s and 70s. However, I'm searching for the original break in all its glory. In fact, it has to be some kind of oldschool break since it could also be found on the Zero-G Jungle Warfare Vol. 1 sample cd. If anyone could enlighten me - it would be for the sake of all of us , since I have started a very charitable break sampling project recently (btw. I'll upload the next one after midnight :D)...

Ahh, so that's the reason for the question. :tu:

...what else? ;)

Does anybody know how old the "Light my fire" version in question is (or confirm that this is actually from 1999 - http://www.amazon.de/gp/music/clipserve ... 87-2955748) or can anybody tell me from which record the Firestarter drumloop originally is. Such things drive me insane and I can get very anal about this...

...what the heck - I order it. I have found track-lists of the single cds of this series and it's all about 60s and 70s music. Perhaps 1999 is just the release year of the respective compilation...
