I thought I'd ask this question here, since Squids is the undisputed king of odd & rare synths.
I remember back in the seventies (probably around '74-'76) a synth company named Hillwood. A friend's brother had one of their synths for sale; I almost bought it, but convincing my parents to get it for me (I think he was asking $150) never worked.
At any rate, do you (Squids) or anyone else out there remember the company? And are there any samples of the machine available anywhere? I'd be curious to know if it would sound as good today as it did to me when I was a teenager. From what I've been able to find online, they had a few different products, but the keyboard I'm remembering was a monosynth, it may have had some presets and minor programmability.
Rare bird? Questions for Squids...

Okay, I think it was the model SY-1800. There's a link here with pics: http://www.transanalog.com/museum/hillwood-sy1800.html

There's a synth you're unfamiliar with? It boggles the mind!Squids wrote:Thanks Doc. I haven't come across that one though. Funky little thing!
