i like what you doing with the forum jens :)

after you have deleted this pointless post you might want to add "1.41" to the titles of the top two sticky's to make it more obvious to the flock of noobs we will get

this thread was originally for xt 1.4 but still...there are quite interesting fr's that could be of use in xt2

And this one on docking is worth having a look (hope it's ok with you Soma :) )

Those are all some of my favorite threads.

Post

Not sure about the one with the nice pics though - other arguments?

No prob, Glad to help out a bit.

:hihi: yeah pretty thin argument indeed...I thought this thread could have gone a little further re-thinking some of the gui elements and adding some features. Nonetheless, I like some of the ideas in the thread, especially lung's . I would love to do this:
lung wrote:dragging & dropping parameters over to a parameter sidebar, adding all parameters from a plugin, and removing parameters from the window.. kind of like a useful cross between the Ableton rack & FLStudio Dashboard.
To have the automated parameters you selected in one window would be handy as the project you're working on is getting bigger. Hard for me to suggest anything, as I don't even know what Live's rack is doing...but I'm sure others would have some more to say about this.

That would be sweet. Not sure what FR thread it fits into though. a VST one?

I as well like some of the ideas and FR in the thread - I think especially Soma made a nice one - however they tend to get lost a little amongst those huge screenshots and the thread-title isn't too specific on what's it actually about - I like to have a collection of threads which help making the countless FRs more organized an I'm unsure on whether this specific thread is really going to help here.

I agree everything in the post above.
I think it's nice to have a threads where people can "get lost" a little but the main points get consolidated to the top.
Unfortunately this is especially tough with Fr's because 1) there are so many of them and 2) people get pretty involved in them and don't want others to "sum them up"
Maybe I'm wrong.

Personally feel free to grab any of my ideas and put them in a list. The more attention they get the better the chance that they will see the light of day in one form or another. (or at least inspire someone :P ).

Post

it should be possible to establish some kind of respected organized order - those threads are just a start - perhaps it would make sense to lock new FR-threads in case they're redundant while giving a link to those 'official' threads ('could you please be so kind as to repost your feature request here:') - but I think I should consult Darkstar about this first as he's still the senior here - actually I'm not sure on whether I have not already taken over too much...

added - thanks! :-D

b.t.w.: not even a mod can add a post at any other place than the bottom of the thread :-)

Absolutely, I understand.

Too bad there are fr's such as these that get lost in time. Sometimes I wish we could do some sort of collage with the good ones.

Anyway, this thread is very much needed, organizing content is as vital as letting the ideas out.

Good job.
