I'm still new to samplers, so I'm not sure how available my questions are. I read that Garriton Personal Orchestra plays random samples when a note is repeated, to prevent the "machine gun" effect. I like this approach- it creates more realism. I think high end libraries like Vienna also includes this?

Here are my questions. I will call this feature "same-note-randomization".

1. is this what is known as "round robin"?

2. for "same-note-randomization" to work, does this require the sample library to include them as true seperate samples? This obviously doubles the whole library.

3. Are the random notes in GPO really seperate samples, or just variations of tone/etc applied in a random way?

4. what other sample players or libraries can do "same-note-randomization"? Only high end ones like Vienna Strings?

5. why not randomize ALL notes, even if not in succession? Any sampler/library that does this? Wouldn't this create even more 'live' realism? (for those wanting a live feel)
