Hi everyone,
While playing around with my synths i often achive a bright sound that really hearts my ears.
I would like to know if there is any way that can reduce those "bad sounds" that sometimes created during unprofessional user synthesize?
Even after i reduced the high frequencies!!!!!! and lowered down the volume the sound still have a bad charcheristic in it..i just cant remove it.
Is there anything that could lower those sounds.i really afraid i will harm my hearing.
Am i not using my filter right (what frequencies shold i reduce)??
What good thenices are to produce an hearing friendly (and safty) sound??
Is there any plugin that will help monitoring the output sound??

Hmm, I think the best ideas is to monitor at low levels while experimenting with a synth you don't know. What synth are you using ?
In terms of analysis, you may wish to grab some FFT analysers ... I use Elemental Audio InspectorXL but that is no longer available, there was a good alternative but the name has escaped me.
The main thing that can get "painful" is high resonance on some plugs.
Always use a limiter at the end of your chain if you are unsure what a plugin will be have like.

im not that of a pro can you please expand?
high resonance? do you mean a specific frequency that is higher the others? that makes sence!
now,how cound a analyzer help me? analyzer is a kind of a passive thing.. please advise

Explaining how to program a synth is actually a pretty involved topic imho.
Resonance I was referring to is part of the filter section of a synth. Resonance refers to an emphasized frequency at some filter cutoff value. The more resonance, the more emphasis on that frequency, and some synths get really nasty at high resonances.
An FFT analyser can show you the frequency content of a sound so you can see visually what it might sound like. It may help to see if you are doing something very wrong but I don't think you need it. It is the only thing I can think of to monitor harsh sounds though. I've never ever used it for that purpose.

after reading your reply again as i said high resonance will be specific frequency that is higher the others (on the cutoff freq).
is there any way to reduce such condition regardless to the synth?
i want to know.. whatever im doing i wont come to this condition.

Massive is not the easiest synth in the world to start with ... in fact, it's probably one of the hardest.
Why not start with ASynth ?

i am always using a gain limiter (what is brickwall limiter?).
but still i want to use massive (and other synths) and i want my hearing to be safe.
its makes sence that a specific freqency resoance shold be the problem.
there is certainly a special limiter\filter that could help me and im here to find it.
